Manchester City has denied rumour the club has made a huge offer to Lionel Messi, as they seek to lure him from Barcelona.
Messi’s current deal with the Spanish giants expires this summer.
The 33-year-old is free to speak to foreign clubs and has been linked with City and Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain.
It has been reported that City made a revised offer for Messi, but a club spokesperson has told Goal that the speculation is not true and that there have been no talks.
City have long been linked with a move for Messi, partly because of the opportunity to work with his former mentor Pep Guardiola.
The Premier League side is one of the few clubs that could afford his salary.
